Back to Brenda’s for breakfast
Summary: Best group breakfast ride in Greater Louisville. 20.8 miles of good roads. The first 6 miles is gentle rollers, followed by 13 miles of ups and downs. Your last two miles of cool down is thru the University of Louisville Golf Club community. There is an optional stop at Shelby Trails Horse Park at mile 17.
Looking for a reward? This ride starts at Brenda’s Country Café, 310 3rdStreet , Simpsonville, KY. Stick your head in Brenda’s before you take off, and you will PR just trying to get back for a plate of the best Brenda has to offer. Don’t let the outside looks keep you away. This ride is secondary to the great food. If you don’t believe us, check out the Yelp reviews.
Saddlebred Capital of the World
Simpsonville is the heart of the Saddlebred Capital of the World and this ride takes you past many horse farms of all sizes. Anderson Lane, home of Stonecroft Farm, is one of the prettiest roads in Shelby County. You can stop at Shelby Trails Horse Park on Aiken Road which has over 690 acres for riding and hiking. Come back and trade your 2 wheels for 4 legs and take a Guided Horse Ride or hike the 4.5 mile Diana’s Trail. I have seen 18 deer in one day (or 3 deer six times) on this trail. TRAIL Therapy Horses Stable on Webb Road backs up to the Park and uses its trails.

The Golf Club, which serves as home to the University of Louisville golf Teams, is a private links course which opened in 2001as the Cardinal Club. The University purchased the facility in 2014. You must be a member or the guest of a member to play.
