Event Information

We’ll be hanging out on the patio of the Old Stone Inn & Tavern with Churchill Downs Executive Chef, David Danielson and America’s CEO (Chief Entertaining Officer) and host of Secrets of Louisville Chefs, Tim Laird. These two wrote the book on Southern hospitality, cooking and cocktails, so get your taste buds ready!

The program will be a fun mixture of history, cocktails and tastings. Tim Laird has concocted a welcome cocktail for us called the Bourbon Lemonade. This refreshing cocktail is made with grilled lemons and rosemary syrup.

Chef Dave will be preparing several samplings of unique dishes from their new book. One sample that will be demonstrated and served is the Manhattan Salmon. A cured salmon with the flavors of a Manhattan, which includes bourbon and cherries.

Dave will discuss what it’s like being the Executive Chef at Churchill Downs and Owner of the Old Stone Inn. He will share some of the fascinating history of the Old Stone Inn which was built in 1792 with 2 foot thick stone walls to protect from Indian attacks. It later served as a stage coach stop and also played a role in the Civil War. Each of the 11 rooms has its own fireplace and even the original floors are still intact.

Tim will talk about what he does in the Libation Lab in developing unique bourbon cocktails. We will also sample the newly released Old Forester Rye.

And if you liked the food samples you tasted, why not stay for dinner?

Of course there will be fantastic door prizes as always. The Old Stone Inn is located off I-64 in Simpsonville, just 10 minutes from the Gene Snyder.

You must be 21 or over to attend this event. The Bourbon Brotherhood is a monthly gathering of men who enjoy bourbon and camaraderie.
