ShelbyKY Tourism takes home 3 Marketing Awards

ShelbyKY Tourism received 3 Bronze Traverse for its 2017 Marketing Campaigns. Kentucky travel and tourism businesses and marketing organizations vie for Traverse Awards in 16 categories during the annual competition. The Traverse panel of judges consists of marketing, public relations and tourism experts whose work is conducted outside Kentucky. Award criteria include concept, creativity, design and impact. Nearly 225 entries were submitted from throughout Kentucky for the 2017 competition.

According to KTIA President/CEO Hank Phillips, “The Kentucky travel and tourism industry includes some of the most creative and effective marketing professionals to be found in any state and in any industry. It is that creativity and marketing that has resulted in tourism becoming one of Kentucky’s premier economic drivers. Traverse awards are much sought after and prestigious acknowledgements of success within this highly skilled industry.”

McGee- Rookie of the Year

This award honors a new member who in a relatively short time has made an impact, including significant contributions to his or her employer and local industry and who has become actively engaged in KTIA. Chenelle McGee was nominated by her peers and voted as the 2017 Rookie of the Year. An honor well deserved for her efforts to the Kentucky tourism industry and for the significant impact she has made in ShelbyKY!

Young Strategies

Young Strategies, Inc. presented to a group of community leaders and partners on October 3rd. Methodology of the research was presented along with how everyone can get involved. Lodging surveys have been deployed and Visitor surveys will go out in early December. The overall research will do the following-To provide research-based travel market study that:  Identifies the current segmented markets, visitor geo/sociodemographic profile and spending levels; Identifies the attractors/motivators that drive visitation to the Shelbyville area; Identifies target/growth markets, visitor segments and strategies with the optimal ROI; Analyzes the effectiveness of current brand and related advertising campaigns; Develops an overall comprehensive strategic action plan; Develops a solid, reliable annual economic impact model.

Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass welcome new stores!

An international fashion brand recently opened at The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass. The Calvin Klein store opened in about 6,900 square feet of previously unoccupied space at the shopping center. Le Creuset store also is planned to open this month as well.

Science Hill reopens with WSG Open House

The recently closed Science Hill Inn as reopened under new management as the Wakefield Scearce Galleries annual Christmas Open House begins. Lunch will be offered Monday-Sunday. More details to be released soon.
