Bourbon Kitchen and Sharecroppers

A spot not to miss

The crunch of falling leaves and the chill of falling temperatures are here which means it’s time to think about warm places to spend happy hours this fall!

Bourbon Kitchen’s inviting storefront nestles in the midst of historic downtown Shelbyville where an attractively quirky mix of rustic decor and the enticing allure of well-appointed café and bar counters tempts you right through the door.  With friendly service and diverse, yet not overwhelming, menu options for brunch, lunch, and dinner the café aspect alone is enough to warrant a visit.  But wait, there’s more!

Tucked behind the restaurant seating area is a co-op called Sharecroppers offering a town square feel on an indoor strolling path where each mini store reveals upscale boutique fare including candles, jewelry, housewares, collectibles, and handmade items including pottery and delightfully fragrant soaps.  A perfect option whether you are out for a “treat yo’self” day or shopping ahead for the holidays.

Enjoy the shops while waiting for your coffee confection, cocktail, mocktail, or meal to arrive – but whatever you do don’t miss out on the tasty treats Bourbon Kitchen has to offer! You are sure to find something delicious no matter the time of day.

Brunch includes a wide variety of familiar favorites but pancakes appear to be the true star of the brunch menu, with several options on the regular menu and a pancake special (sometimes sweet, sometimes savory) every brunch.  Lunch and dinner definitely fall into the “pub grub” category with delightful offerings in the burger, sandwich, taco, and salad realms.  Upscale is certainly available with toppings like feta, prosciutto, and avocado but if down home is your preference you can get a straight-up American-style meal.  Heck, you can even get fried bologna.  The food is plentiful and well prepared and everyone in the family will be sure to find something they like.  Paired with full café beverage options, full bar, and a nice selection of wine and beer Bourbon Kitchen is the complete package.
