(October 2024) — ShelbyKY Tourism - the convention and visitors bureau for Shelbyville, Simpsonville, and Shelby County, Kentucky – receives national recognition from Meetings Today magazine. The destination marketing organization (DMO) is listed as one of the Best South CVBs/DMOs in the 2024 Best of Meetings Today Awards. The winners were selected via voting by Meetings Today’s audience and a review by its content team.

“It is exciting to see ShelbyKY Tourism on a list that includes CVBs/DMOs in large markets including Miami, Dallas, and Nashville,” said Janette Marson, President & CEO of ShelbyKY Tourism. “On the heels of securing a federal trademark for Your Bourbon Destination® earlier this month, this recognition shows that the small-town charm, horse farms, outdoor adventure, shopping, and local restaurants only found in ShelbyKY really resonate with travelers.”

When choosing the winners, Meetings Today polls its audience of planners to get their take on the top properties and destinations they've used for meetings. “Every year, we reach out to our audience to ask them to vote for their top facilities and DMOs,” said Tyler Davidson, vice president and chief content director of Meetings Today. “Our annual Best of Meetings Today Awards recognize the leading properties and DMOs in the industry and can also serve as a great resource for planners when they are researching sites for their meetings.”
