Shelbyville, KY (April 9, 2024) — ShelbyKY Tourism announces the launch of Horses, Horsepower & Hollers, a celebration of some of Kentucky's most well-known and well-loved attractions. The prebuilt itineraries are perfect for families and groups traveling throughout the Bluegrass state and feature weekend getaways, and trips of four & seven days. From the thrilling world of motorsports and horse racing to the tranquil beauty of Kentucky's hills and hollers, visitors will get an up-close look at what makes the Bluegrass state truly legendary.

This collaborative project is the undertaking of six tourism offices throughout Kentucky, including ShelbyKY, Bowling Green, Corbin, Franklin/Simpson County, Georgetown/Scott County, and Harlan. Horses, Horsepower & Hollers’ six key destinations each offer a distinct blend of cultural, historical, and adventurous experiences.

"We are excited to launch Horses, Horsepower & Hollers and cannot wait for visitors to enjoy this new experience that showcases the best of Kentucky," said Janette Marson, President and CEO of ShelbyKY Tourism. “We’re at our best when we recognize our shared strengths - this project is a celebration of what makes Kentucky an iconic destination."

In ShelbyKY, attractions in the Horses, Horsepower & Hollers experience include:

  • Bulleit Distilling Co.: Since its opening in ShelbyKY in 2017, Bulleit Distillery is committed to sustainability and recently planted more than 1 million trees to offset the wood used in their barrels. Bulleit Distillery embraces the frontier spirit with its high-rye bourbons and state-of-the-art, high-tech facilities and distillation techniques. The multi-sensory tour embraces the sights, scents, sounds, and tastes of Bulleit's Frontier Bourbon Whiskey.
  • HorseSensing Saddlebred Farm: HorseSensing, though a relatively new farm in ShelbyKY, has already made a big impact in the community. HorseSensing serves a unique and honorable purpose by redefining the meaning of horsepower into the power of the horse. Through equine therapy, they have formulated a process to assist military veterans with PTSD transition to civilian life. A gorgeous Saddlebred horse farm, HorseSensing brings both a stunning visual appeal and a heartwarming mission to visitors.
  • The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass: Shop 'til you drop at Kentucky's only designer outlet mall! Save in 90 well-known designer outlets including Coach, Banana Republic, Nike, North Face, Under Armour, Vera Bradley, and many more. Enjoy the Food Court, with center court fountains and a fireplace.

The project, which received grant funding from Kentucky Tourism, employed Kentucky-based creatives for branding, design, and website development. More information and complete itineraries are available on the Horses, Horsepower & Hollers website at kytripleh.com.
