Shelbyville, KY (May 27, 2025) – ShelbyKY Tourism is proud to announce the promotion of Mason Warren to the role of Vice President. Warren most recently served as the destination marketing organization’s Director of Marketing & Public Relations.
In his new role, Warren will serve as a second-in-command to President & CEO Janette Marson, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of ShelbyKY Tourism, leading strategic marketing and public relations initiatives, managing group sales efforts, and supervising the operations of the Shelbyville Conference Center.
“Mason has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and a deep commitment to the success of our community,” said Janette Marson, President & CEO of ShelbyKY Tourism. “His promotion to Vice President is a natural next step, and we’re excited to see his continued impact in this expanded role.”
Warren, a lifelong Shelbyville resident, joined ShelbyKY Tourism in 2021 and quickly rose through the organization, first working as an office assistant and marketing coordinator. As Marketing and PR Director, ShelbyKY and its partners have secured national and international media coverage, launched the “Kentucky Hidden Wonders” podcast, expanded the agency’s digital presence, and redesigned the destination’s website, all while generating record-breaking visitor spending and positive economic impact from tourism.
“It is an honor and a privilege to tell my hometown‘s story on a national and international stage. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to continuing my work with ShelbyKY Tourism in a new and expanded role,” said Warren.
Warren’s creative leadership has earned ShelbyKY Tourism multiple accolades from the Kentucky Travel Industry Association, including:
- National eTSY award for best use of augmented reality for the Kentucky Black Trailblazers project (2025)
- Gold Awards for the “Kentucky Black Trailblazers” augmented reality experience and a comprehensive website redesign (2024)
- Silver Awards for a streaming advertising campaign (2023) and the “Your Bourbon Destination” integrated marketing campaign (2022)
- Bronze Awards for the ShelbyKY Visitor Guide and the Shelbyville Conference Center promotional video (2023)
In February 2024, Warren was named one of Louisville Business First’s “20 People to Know in Tourism & Hospitality,” which highlights regional leaders shaping the future of the tourism industry. He was also commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Andy Beshear in November 2023, the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s highest civilian honor.
Warren is active in civic and cultural leadership throughout Shelby County. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and the Shelby County Community Theatre, where he is a board officer and member of the Long Range Planning & Expansion Committee and previously chaired the Marketing and Season Selection committees.
