Every weekend from mid-September through October, Gallrein Farms transforms into a fall playground for all ages. Climb aboard a hayride to the pumpkin patch, wander through the Lainey Wilson-themed corn maze, and meet the animals at the petting zoo. Wristbands give you access to family-friendly attractions like obstacle courses, bounce houses, and more.

🥃 Jeptha Creed Distillery Fall Harvest Festival

No ShelbyKY fall is complete without bourbon, and Jeptha Creed Distillery hosts one of the season’s highlights: the Fall Harvest Festival on October 4, 2025 from 12–6 PM.

Expect live music from fantastic musicians, a vendor market featuring Kentucky makers, food trucks, and family-friendly activities like a corn maze located right by the rickhouses. Adults can sample Jeptha Creed’s signature bourbon, vodka, and moonshine, while kids enjoy games and activities. Don’t miss the silent auction featuring artist-painted bourbon barrels — it’s a ShelbyKY tradition.

Looking for something a little scarier? Head to Black Orchard Haunted House, tucked away in Shelbyville’s Red Orchard Park, open 8:00 pm - 12:00 am on September 27, and every Friday & Saturday in October.

Visit the site of the infamous and brutal Black Orchard Murders, atrocities so graphic that they remain classified to this day. Silas Black and his family of killers are still at large. It is rumored they have returned to the orchard, where you will enter their barn and see the darkest side of human nature. You haven’t seen the evil that exists in humans until you see What’s In The Barn! Tickets sell quickly, so book early if you dare.

🎭 Murder by Poe at Shelby County Community Theatre

Prefer your chills with a side of storytelling? The Shelby County Community Theatre presents Murder by Poe from October 24 to November 2, 2025.

Murder by Poe is a theatrical reimagining of some of Edgar Allan Poe’s most famous tales of terror. It's a dark and dreadful night, and a woman in white is lost in the woods, and the only shelter is a house full of murderers and characters from Poe's classic works. As each haunted figure tells a story of crime and mayhem, the woman must solve the puzzle of the house and the riddle of the man who ushers her into its mysteries.

Performed in SCCT’s intimate “Upstairs at 801” black-box theater, it’s an evening of mystery and suspense you won’t forget. Click here to get tickets.
