World-famous equine competition meets small-town charm
Known the world over, the Shelbyville Horse Show is one of ShelbyKY's most popular events. Held annually on the first Wednesday-Saturday in August, the Shelbyville Horse Show is a longstanding tradition for late summer in Shelby County. Shelby County holds the distinction of being the Saddlebred Horse Capital of the World, and there's no better place to see the exquisite breed on display than the Shelbyville Horse Show.

Horseman's Club Gala
Join us for the Horseman's Club Charity Gala at the Shelbyville Horse Show! This is a must-attend event for horse lovers and anyone who wants to support a great cause. The Horseman's Club is hosting this charity gala to raise funds for HorseSensing's program for veterans and people in recovery.
Special theme nights include:
- Wednesday, August 2nd — Kentucky Leaders Night. Both candidates for Governor will be in attendance.
- Thursday, August 3rd — Veteran's Night. Veterans in attendance will be honored with a program hosted by Aaron Reed.
- Friday, August 4th — High School Reunion Night. There will be callouts and shoutouts and yearbook fun and games and then a “high school dance" in the pavilion after the show!
- Saturday, August 5th — Saddlebred Legends Night, featuring Don Harris, Hoppy Bennett, and other famous horsemen that are the reason behind the Shelbyville Horse Show.
General Admission
General admission tickets are $5 and will be available at the gate.
