Shelbyville, KY (November 8, 2022) — The Board of Directors of the Shelby County Tourism Commission has three new members, each representing a vital facet of the tourism industry in ShelbyKY. 

 

  • Jeanette Aumon is the owner and operator of Cerulean Farm Bed & Breakfast in Shelby County and represents the lodging industry on the Board of Directors. A Shelby County resident for more than a decade, Aumon brings extensive experience in the equine industry to the Board. Aumon was appointed to a previously unfilled eighth board seat, and her term will expire on June 30, 2024. 
     
  • Matt Burgin is the Vice President, Loan Officer at Independence Bank in Shelbyville. He has previously served on the ShelbyKY Tourism board and is also the Chairman of the Shelbyville/Shelby County Parks & Recreation Board and the President of the Shelby County Public Library Board of Trustees. Burgin is the Shelby County Fiscal Court’s representative on the Board of Directors and was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Vance Riester, and his term will expire on June 30, 2023.
     
  • Tom McGinnis is the owner of Heritage Assets, a holding company located in Shelbyville, Kentucky. In addition, he owns several Hardees franchises throughout the southeast United States, and several vacation rentals within ShelbyKY. McGinnis is an involved community member and represents the lodging industry on the Board of Directors. McGinnis was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Leon Swarts, and his term will expire on June 30, 2023.

 

Aumon, Burgin, and McGinnis, who were appointed by joint action of the Shelby County Fiscal Court, City of Shelbyville, and City of Simpsonville, will join current board members Bethany Smith (Chairman), Dori Lewis (Treasurer), Shalane Adkinson, Joyce Nethery, and Gary Walls. The Board of Directors meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 9 AM at the ShelbyKY Tourism office. Meetings are open to the public.
